Q: What is Pals In Motion?
A: Pals In Motion is the largest fundraiser of the year for InMotion®, a nonprofit organization in Beachwood, Ohio that provides programs for people with Parkinson’s disease. Funds raised through Pals In Motion allow InMotion® to provide these life-changing services at no cost to our clients. Pals In Motion event includes a chip-timed 5K run, a 5K walk and a 1-Mile walk.
Q: How do I register for the event (as an individual or as part of a team)?
A. Click the orange box on the top left of this page that says “Register” and then follow the prompts. If you would like to form a team or join a team, click the appropriate box, and continue to follow the prompts.
Q: If I cannot attend the event in person, can I participate virtually?
A: There are several ways that you can support the event even if you cannot attend in person: you can make a donation to a person or team, you can register as a fundraiser, or you can register as a virtual participant. If you register as a fundraiser, you are able to share your fundraising page with friends and family and ask them to support InMotion. If you register as a virtual participant, you can also create and share a fundraising page, but you will also receive a t-shirt to wear as you complete your run or walk from where you are.
Q: How can I make a donation?
A: Click on the button that says “Donate” then follow the prompts. You may also mail a check to: InMotion®, 23905 Mercantile Road, Beachwood, OH 44122. Be sure to write “Pals In Motion” in the memo section of your check. If you’d like to make a donation in another way (such as a donor advised fund or stock transfer), please contact Chief Development Officer Wendy Voelker at 216-342-4016 or wvoelker@beinmotion.org. If you would like to make a cash donation, drop by our office in person and stop at the front desk. Please do not send cash in the mail.
Q: Is my registration fee tax deductible?
A: No, your registration fee is not tax deductible. Registration fees help us pay event expenses.
Q: Is my donation tax deductible?
A: Yes, InMotion® is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization and all donations to Pals In Motion are tax-deductible to the extent of the law. If you donate online, you will receive an email which will serve as your receipt. If you pay by check or cash, you will receive your receipt via mail.
Q: Do I have to sign up to participate in the additional activities (Obstacle Course and 100-yard dash, art, music?)
A: No, it is not necessary to sign up in advance, but you must be registered for the race itself (run or walk) to participate.
Q: My company (or my family) is interested in sponsoring the event - where do I start?
A: Click the “Sponsor” tab on the homepage and fill out the online form or print the PDF of the Sponsorship form and return it by mail with your check to: InMotion®, 23905 Mercantile Road, Beachwood, OH 44122. Q. Can I pick up my race t-shirt early?
A. T-shirt and bib pickup will be held on the Thursday and Friday before the event, at InMotion in Beachwood. Team Captains will have the option to pick up t-shirts for their entire team, but that is not required. If t-shirts and bibs are not picked up during one of our pickup times, they will be available for pickup on race day beginning at 7:30am at Beachwood High School.
QUESTIONS ABOUT RACE DAY
Q. Can I bring my dog (or other animal) to Pals In Motion?
A. No. Beachwood High School does not allow pets on their campus.
Q. Is food provided at the event?
Yes! Fruit, granola bars and breakfast burritos will be available for all race participants. We are also excited to announce that the Cleveland Division Water will be bringing their Water Buggy – so please bring your reusable water bottle.
Q. Will the event be held if it’s raining?
A. Yes. Pals In Motion will be held rain or shine. If weather becomes dangerous (lightning or other severe weather), the event will be cancelled and will not be rescheduled. Be sure to opt-in to text alerts when registering, to receive any critical delay or cancellation notices. We will also be updating our race website and sending out email alerts in the case of delays or cancellations. In the event of cancellation, there will be no refunds.
Q. Can I register on the day of the event?
A. Yes, you will have the option to register and pay on the day of the event. Same-day registration fees are higher, so you are encouraged to register in advance to avoid higher fees.
